hey baby.

my hamster has a baby hamster!
(internet picture)

This morning i.. ( well afternoon) hehe i woke up and i heard some weird noises coming from my hamsters cage and then i had a shock of my life to find two baby hamsters, God knows what happen to the rest of them probably was eaten by the mother and father, YIKESS! heeeee~ well anyways it turn out that only one was alive, so i took out the parents from the cage and that easily become one escapade, and moved them into a old cookie tupperware to avoid anymore baby s for dinner! yeeeeeeee`. so due to lack of total knowledge about hamsters giving birth , thank God for google! :D so here are the things to do!

how to prepare for a new born baby hamster:
  • put the babyhamster and the mother together in one cage,
  • separate the male hamster and put him in a different place. ( to avoid: the male eating the baby& the famale attacking the male)
  • cover the cage with the baby and mother with a cloth , so that she can have privacy taking care of her newborn.
  • do not keep viewing the mother and baby, this activity will scare the mother and it will cause her to eat her young.
  • feed her with food that is high in protein, example: hard boiled eggs, nuts, milk and etc.
  • place a few cotton pads for her to make a nest.
  • do not bother cleaning the cage.
  • the baby should be ready and healthy in 3 weeks!
  • do not touch the baby by any means.
hopefully the baby will live to be a full grown hamster! :D and the parents will learn their lesson and wont resort to cannibalism !
